Meet the Young Entrepreneurs of Lemonade Day Lomita

Come out and meet the Young Entrepreneurs of Lemonade Day Lomita!  Approximately 100 youth will start new businesses all across Lomita – on a single day.

Learn more about their businesses (a lemonade stand), where their lemonade stand business will be located on Lemonade Day, and goals for their business enterprise.

Already, Lemonade Day Lomita’s young entrepreneurs have…

? Pitched their business to a panel ‘shark-tank’ style

? Successfully applied for and received a micro loan to help pay for their lemonade stand business

? Started test marketing their business concept at a pop-up event

? Met with Lomita business owners around town to ask permission to have their lemonade stand at their high-traffic business

? Launched their social media campaign to promote their lemonade stand business

What is Lemonade Day?

Lemonade Day Lomita is scheduled on August 7, 2021. It is a free youth entrepreneur program that was started in Texas over 10 years ago and has now been brought to Lomita by the Lomita Chamber of Commerce thanks to the support of our generous sponsors and partnership with the City of Lomita.

Registered youth who participate in Lemonade Day on August 7th in Lomita are eligible to enter a drawing to win a new bike, enter to win Youth Entrepreneur of the Year, and have a chance to advance to the National Youth Entrepepreneur of the Year contest where the grand prize winner will be awarded with cash. Youth are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some of their profit with a charity of their choice.

Lemonade Day teaches the basics of entrepreneurial learning: Business Skills, Financial Literacy, Teamwork, Social & Emotional Skills, Goal Setting, and Responsibility. Mentors guide participants through the youth entrepreneurship lessons through the Lemonade Day curriculum and takes participants through the journey of planning, launching and operating a business. The valuable lessons of Lemonade Day include setting a goal, making a plan, working the plan and achieving their dreams. Once a youth pays their investor back, they keep all the money they earn and are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some of their profit.
