These events are an opportunity to welcome community leaders to your business and create awareness around your products and services.

They’re also a meaningful way to show appreciation to your customers, employees, and supporters.

More Than a Ceremony

Lomita Chamber ribbon cuttings are more than just a ceremony, they are a community celebration.

We bring together Chamber members, City leaders, and regional representatives to help you mark your milestone in a meaningful and visible way.

The Chamber helps handle the publicity and coordination so you can focus on your big day.

What the Chamber Provides

• Invitations to Chamber members and the community
• Outreach to the Mayor, City Council, and elected officials
• Promotion on the Chamber website calendar
• Inclusion in Chamber email communications
• Social media promotion (Facebook and Instagram)
• Event photos shared post-event
• On-site support and business introduction to guests
• Coordination of congratulatory certificates from local elected officials to help you commemorate and remember your milestone (as available)
• Ceremonial ribbon and scissors

Planning Guidelines

To ensure a successful and well-attended event:

• Advance Notice: Minimum of 3 weeks required
• Scheduling: Based on Chamber calendar and elected official availability
• Timing: Typically held on weekdays during business hours (limited Saturday availability)
• Evening Events: Ribbon cuttings may be scheduled as part of a mixer-style event, typically aligned with the Chamber’s monthly mixer (last Wednesday of the month) 
• Membership: Ribbon cuttings are a benefit of Chamber membership

Ribbon cuttings are not drop-in or same-week events. Proper planning ensures visibility, attendance, and a more impactful experience.

Your Role as the Host

As the business being celebrated, you will:

• Provide the location for the event
• Invite your network, customers, and partners
• Prepare brief remarks about your business
• Offer light refreshments if desired (optional)
