Best Wishes For The Holidays and New Year
During the holiday season, our thoughts turn gratefully to our members, community partners and volunteers who have helped us shape and grow our Chamber. It is in this spirit that we say thank you and send best wishes for the holidays and New Year.
As we look back, in 2021 the Lomita Chamber held over fifty events and programs which included our inaugural Lemonade Day Lomita, Installation and Community Awards, State of the City, Farmers Market and monthly networking mixers that brought us together again – to get back to business. Gratefully, our collaborative partnerships with the City of Lomita, elected officials including LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn and LA County Assessor Jeffrey Prang, and community partners including Lomita-Harbor City Kiwanis, Children’s Hospital of LA, and Torrance Memorial Medical Center, allowed us to work together to offer programs to help inform and educate, provide resources and needed support during the pandemic, as well as inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs.
We have become more active in being a strong voice for business on a local, regional, and state level, and have been able to encourage engagement between our business members and elected officials. We have had active engagement with Congresswoman Maxine Waters at several events and ribbon cuttings, and organized a Walk-n-Talk with Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi who met with several of our small businesses in the community to hear some of their concerns.
We thank all of our small businesses and organizations for being a part of our community. We celebrated milestones and openings with ribbon cuttings for Still Got It Fitness (5 year anniversary), Smart Auto Details Auto Spa, Ageless Cards, Element BBQ, Gladius Athletic Foundation, and D’Luxe Spa Salon Barber.
The Chamber couldn’t do any of this without our dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, Ambassadors, Health & Wellness, and Lemon Council Committee Members.
For many of our members, the true value of membership may be what we, the Chamber, are doing on your behalf and behind the scenes. We strive to be aware of the issues and/or concerns that will have an impact on business. The fundamental question we ask is “is this good for business”.
Looking ahead, we’re continuing our commitment to deliver quality opportunities for members and businesses to build relationships with prospective customers and clients at our events. We will continue to promote and refer Chamber members and be a resource to help businesses navigate change. We look forward to strengthening our relationships with organizations and resource centers as an active partner focused on business recovery and workforce needs, employment and labor laws, and many more areas that impact our local economy.
The year may be coming to an end, but our work to continue to connect and support our businesses and community carries on.
To our members, thank you for being a part of the Lomita Chamber family. We appreciate your membership and look forward to supporting you in the next year. To our soon to be members, we look forward to having you join us. 🙂
Wishing you and yours all the best.
